Victims Identified as Ahmedabad Residents
The deceased have been identified as Sonali Thakor (28) and Ashish Thakor (16), both residents of Narol in Ahmedabad. Those injured in the horrific crash include Sonali's husband, Harshad Thakor (30), their three-year-old son Divyansh, and 29-year-old Kalpesh Thakor. All injured persons were immediately rushed to a hospital in Rajkot for emergency medical treatment.
Police Investigation Reveals Accident Details
According to Chotila police sub-inspector B N Diwan, the family was returning to Ahmedabad after visiting Chotila when the tragedy occurred. The accident happened when their car attempted to overtake a pickup van on the highway and collided with it. The violent impact caused the vehicle to lose control and crash into the rear of a truck that was parked inside a hotel compound adjacent to the roadway.
