Thane Police Apprehend Serial Burglar Responsible for 50 House Break-Ins
In a significant breakthrough, Thane police have successfully arrested a serial burglar from Titwala who is alleged to have carried out nearly 50 house break-ins across various suburbs of Thane. The accused managed to elude police attention for over three years, during which he stole gold collectively worth approximately Rs 1.3 crore.
Targeted Residential Areas and Modus Operandi
The accused specifically targeted residential pockets in Mumbra and Diva, focusing on ground-floor homes that lacked CCTV surveillance or security guards. According to Deputy Commissioner of Police Amarsinh Jadhav, the burglar employed a distinctive method to gain entry and escape with loot.
"He used to break in through washroom windows and decamp with loot he could fit into his clothes," said DCP Amarsinh Jadhav, highlighting the suspect's calculated approach to avoid detection.
Three-Year Crime Spree and Police Investigation
The serial burglar's crime spree spanned more than three years, during which he systematically carried out break-ins across Thane's suburbs. The police investigation revealed that the accused meticulously selected homes without security measures, making it easier for him to operate undetected.
