In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, the Indore police arrested two individuals on Friday in the Banganga area and seized approximately 129 grams of brown sugar. The contraband is estimated to be valued at around Rs 1.29 crore in the international market.
Details of the Arrest
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Rajesh Vyas, the suspects have been identified as Shivam Soni and Abhishek Singh Tomar. Acting on a specific tip-off, the police intercepted the duo and recovered nearly 70 small packets of brown sugar from their possession. These packets were reportedly intended for retail distribution across various parts of the city.
Modus Operandi
Preliminary investigations reveal that the accused had transported the narcotics from Rajasthan and were planning to supply them in Indore and its surrounding areas. The police suspect that the duo is part of a larger, organized drug trafficking syndicate operating in the region.
The arrest comes as a major blow to the local drug network, and authorities are now probing further to identify other members of the syndicate and the source of the contraband.
