In a significant security operation, police in Rajasthan's Rajsamand district apprehended two individuals and confiscated a large cache of explosive materials being transported without authorization. The incident occurred near the town of Nathdwara, sending ripples through the local administration.
Patrolling Team Makes Critical Interception
The action was initiated by a vigilant team from the Srinathji police station during a routine patrol. Deputy Superintendent of Police Shipra Rajawat provided details of the operation. The officers flagged down a pickup truck that was missing its license plates and was coming from the direction of Amet town. Upon closer inspection, the vehicle was found to be laden with hazardous materials.
The search revealed a substantial quantity of detonators, gelatin sticks, and other substances classified as explosives. When questioned, the driver and his companion failed to produce any of the legally mandated documents required for the transportation of such dangerous goods.
Arrests and Legal Action Under Explosives Act
The two men in the vehicle were immediately taken into custody. They have been identified as Bhagwat Singh and Himmat Singh. Following preliminary interrogation, the police formally arrested the duo. They have been booked under relevant sections of the stringent Explosives Act.
Initial inquiries by the police suggest that the seized consignment was purportedly meant for use in mining activities. However, the complete lack of proper paperwork and the suspicious circumstances of the transport have raised serious concerns.
Wider Investigation Launched into Source and Route
Authorities are not taking the incident at face value and have initiated a broader probe. The police are now digging deeper to uncover the original source of the explosives, their intended final destination, and the network that enabled their movement without necessary clearances.
The pickup truck and the entire haul of explosive materials have been impounded as evidence. Further questioning of the arrested accused is currently underway to unravel possible larger connections or violations.
