In a significant breakthrough, Amritsar police have apprehended three individuals in connection with the brutal murder of a local resident. The victim, identified as Ajaypal Singh, was chased and hacked to death with swords in the Sultanwind area.

Ajaypal Singh had visited the house of a woman named Rupa, a resident of Kot Mit Singh. His purpose was to discuss her alleged illicit relationship with his brother-in-law. Providing details on Tuesday, Amritsar Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar confirmed the arrests. The First Information Report (FIR) indicated that a few Nihangs and other relatives of Rupa were involved in the assault. The police have now taken three suspects into custody.
The arrested individuals are:
- Prem Singh (20), a resident of Kot Mit Singh.
- Rupa (32), wife of Gurjeet Singh.
- Jaswinder Singh (45), from Guru Nanak Nagar in Jalandhar.
