Tragic Motorcycle Accident Claims Lives of Three Young Friends in West Champaran
A devastating road accident in West Champaran district has resulted in the untimely deaths of three close friends, casting a shadow of grief over their village community. The incident occurred late on Thursday night near Bagahi Badhiya Tola, under the jurisdiction of the Bairia police station.
Details of the Fatal Collision
According to police reports, the tragedy unfolded when the motorcycle carrying the three youths rammed into a stationary truck that was parked on the roadside. The truck was reportedly loaded with fertilizer. Initial investigations suggest that poor visibility due to darkness may have prevented the bike rider from noticing the parked vehicle in time, leading to the catastrophic collision.
Two of the young men died instantly at the scene, while the third, who sustained critical injuries, was rushed to the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) in Bettiah. Despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries on Friday morning, bringing the death toll to three.
Victims Identified as Promising Young Individuals
The deceased have been identified as residents of Ghuspura village under Bhitaha panchayat:
- Alok Raj (18): A dedicated student who was preparing for the NEET medical entrance examination in Patna, aspiring for a career in medicine.
- Roshan Kumar (15): A Class XI student with his academic journey ahead of him.
- Vikas Kumar (20): A young man who was on the verge of embarking on an international work opportunity abroad.
Family member Narad Prasad revealed that the trio were returning from a fair organized for a Mahayagya at Nath Baba Chowk when the accident occurred. "They were inseparable friends, full of dreams and potential," he lamented, highlighting the personal aspirations each victim held.
Police Response and Investigation
SHO Pramod Kumar of Bairia police station stated that a police team promptly arrived at the location after receiving information about the crash. "Our team secured the scene, provided assistance, and initiated an investigation," he explained. The authorities have seized the involved truck as part of their procedural examination.
Following the completion of postmortem procedures, the bodies were handed over to the grieving relatives. The police have confirmed that a thorough investigation is currently underway to ascertain all contributing factors and circumstances surrounding this fatal incident.
