A shocking and brutal murder has rocked the city of Dhanbad, where a 20-year-old daily wage labourer was found dead with his throat slit in the Krishi Bazaar Samiti premises on Friday morning. The deceased, identified as Rohit Singh, a native of Bokaro, worked in the vicinity as a labourer, and his violent death has sent waves of panic through the local community.
Discovery of the Body Triggers Panic
The grim discovery was made early on Friday when residents from the market area stepped out towards a public toilet near Randhir Verma Chowk, a central location in the city. They stumbled upon Rohit Singh's blood-soaked body lying outside a closed shop, immediately triggering chaos and alarm among locals. According to police reports, Rohit had last been seen on Thursday evening after dinner, when he went to sleep on the rooftop of the shop where he was employed.
Police Investigation Points to Premeditated Murder
Preliminary examination by authorities revealed deep cut marks on the victim's neck, indicating that he was brutally murdered using a sharp-edged weapon. Police sources have stated that the nature of the injuries strongly suggests a premeditated and violent act, pointing towards a deliberate and gruesome attack. The body has been sent for a postmortem examination to gather further forensic evidence.
Manoj Pandey, the officer-in-charge of Dhanbad police station, confirmed that an FIR has been registered against unknown persons, and a thorough investigation is underway. "Efforts are ongoing to identify the assailants with the help of CCTV footage from nearby areas," Pandey said. The police have also begun questioning locals and shopkeepers to piece together the victim's last movements and gather any potential clues that could lead to the perpetrators.
