Nagpur: A rivalry over a love affair ended in tragedy in the Kalamna area when a 17-year-old boy was stabbed to death by another teenager on Tuesday late evening. The Kalamna police have rounded up four juveniles in connection with the case on Wednesday.
Details of the Incident
The victim was summoned to the crime spot under the guise of reaching a settlement, according to police. Sources revealed that the victim had been in a relationship with a girl for one-and-a-half years, but she later became close to another boy. Recently, the victim and his friends had barged into his rival's house to settle the score, but the rival managed to escape.
The Attack
On Tuesday, the rival laid a trap to avenge the earlier attack on his house. When the two teenagers confronted each other, a fierce group clash erupted. In the chaos, the accused allegedly pulled out a weapon and stabbed the victim repeatedly on his face and body. The teenager collapsed and died instantly, while the rival and his accomplices fled the scene.
Police Response
The relatives rushed the teenager to Mayo Hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead. The area remains tense but calm under heavy police deployment. Authorities are probing the full sequence of events and the motive behind the crime.
Senior Inspector Praveen Kale of Kalamna police station stated that the teenagers involved in the crime do not have criminal records. "The rival boys were chasing the same girl. There were repeated spats, but no one appeared before the police to lodge any complaint in the past," said Kale. He added that forensic teams have visited the spot to collect evidence.
