Delhi Police Uncover Hidden Brothel, Rescue Trafficked Teenager
In a dramatic late-night operation, Delhi police rescued a 17-year-old girl from a concealed brothel on SN Marg near Ajmeri Gate in central Delhi. The teenager, who had been lured from West Bengal with promises of a better life, instead found herself trapped in exploitation and confinement far from home.
Ordeal Ends with Police Raid
The rescue occurred on the night of April 8 when a police team raided the first floor of the building and discovered the girl confined in a hidden room. Investigators found the space cleverly concealed behind what appeared to be an ordinary almirah—a facade that masked a cluster of tiny chambers where victims were kept.
According to police reports, the minor had been brought to Delhi by a woman identified as Alia, who subsequently handed her over to a couple named Kumari and Rahul. This couple is accused of operating the illegal establishment and allegedly forcing the teenager into commercial sex work. Both suspects are currently absconding as authorities continue their search.
Arrests Made and Evidence Collected
During the operation, police arrested two men who were allegedly working as managers at the premises. Gopi Ram Parihar, 36, and Luma Kant Pandey, 41, both residents of Dang district in Nepal, were taken into custody. Authorities stated that these individuals handled cash transactions and arranged client access to the establishment.
Rescue workers from the NGO Sahyog Care For You described an elaborate alert system used by the brothel operators. "We had been stationed there for hours, keeping watch," said Firdaus, one of the rescue workers. "The moment we tried to enter, someone rang a bell installed near a tree outside the building. There was immediate commotion, with customers rushing down, but we intercepted them on the staircase."
Following the interception, the team conducted a thorough search of the premises. Investigators discovered detailed records including registers that documented the number of clients assigned to each woman. These records were linked to a token system where colored tokens with specific monetary values were issued and later exchanged with the managers.
Substantial Evidence Recovered
DCP (Central) Rohit Rajbir Singh revealed the extensive evidence collected from the scene:
- Cash worth approximately Rs 2 lakh
- 118 US dollars and other foreign currency notes
- 33 grams of cannabis
- Used condoms and gauze cloth with suspected semen stains
- Transaction slips and medicines
- Eight detailed diaries
- Colored tokens used in the payment system
- Two knives
- 264 bottles and 478 cans of beer
Legal Action and Additional Rescues
Multiple First Information Reports have been registered under various statutes including:

Police confirmed that the 17-year-old was among eight women rescued from the premises. The other victims, ranging in age from 18 to 36 years, hail from West Bengal, Assam, Uttar Pradesh, and Nepal. All have been provided with necessary support and counseling services as the investigation continues to unfold.
This case highlights the ongoing challenges in combating human trafficking and sexual exploitation in urban centers, with authorities emphasizing the importance of community vigilance and prompt reporting of suspicious activities.
