Son Allegedly Hires Contract Killers from Telangana to Murder Father in Karnataka Property Dispute
In a chilling incident that has sent shockwaves through the community, a man from Gonal village in Wadagera taluk of Yadgir district, Karnataka, allegedly orchestrated the murder of his own father by hiring contract killers from the neighboring state of Telangana. The crime, driven by a bitter property dispute, was meticulously planned and executed, with police uncovering the gruesome details after a thorough investigation.
Details of the Heinous Crime
The accused, identified as Narasareddy Sajjan, is alleged to have given a supari (murder contract) to a group of goons from Rachamarri village in Kurnool district, Telangana. The hired assailants—Ramesh Narasappa, Veeresh Murakappa, Krishna Tikkaiah, and Veeresh Urakundi—reportedly attacked and killed 76-year-old Hampanna on the night of March 11 while he was alone at his farmhouse near Gonal village.
Hampanna, who had been living alone since his wife passed away a decade ago, had distributed his land among his three sons but retained 12 acres for his own sustenance. Tensions escalated when Hampanna sold 6 acres of this land for approximately Rs 2 lakh a few days prior to the murder, a move that deeply upset his sons, including Narasareddy.
Police Investigation and Arrest
Following the murder, Narasareddy reportedly went to the Wadagera police station and filed a complaint, feigning ignorance about the crime. However, police suspicions were aroused, leading to a detailed probe. CPI Sunil V Mulimani of Wadagera spearheaded the investigation, which revealed Narasareddy's involvement in hiring the hitmen.
The breakthrough came on March 20, when police arrested Narasareddy and sent him to judicial custody. The case highlights the severe consequences of familial conflicts over property, with law enforcement officials emphasizing the need for peaceful resolution mechanisms.
