Nagpur: Slipper Mix-Up Escalates into Fatal Brick Kiln Assault

A tragic incident stemming from a minor misunderstanding over footwear has resulted in a brutal murder at a brick kiln in Chaughan village, under the jurisdiction of the Ramtek police station. The dispute, which began when a youth accidentally wore another person's slippers, culminated in a deadly assault last week.

Background of the Victims and Accused

According to the official complaint, the victim, identified as Sameer Naitam (18), and the complainant, also named Sameer Naitam (18), were both residents of Dhabadih village in Baloda Bazar district, Chhattisgarh. They were employed and residing at the Salim Khan Vit Bhatta brick kiln in the area.

Sequence of Events Leading to the Tragedy

The chain of events was set in motion on March 26, when the deceased accidentally wore the slippers of Umesh Nishad (19) while visiting Gadmandir in Ramtek. This simple mistake led Umesh to publicly label the victim as a thief, causing deep offense and humiliation.
