Tragic Highway Crash Claims Six Women's Lives in Sikar District
A devastating road accident near Harsawa village in Sikar district resulted in the deaths of six women on Wednesday. Three other individuals, including the car driver, sustained serious injuries in the head-on collision between a car and a truck.
Details of the Fatal Collision
The accident occurred around 4 pm on the Sikar-Bikaner national highway. According to Sikar additional superintendent of police Tejpal Singh, the car was carrying members of the same family from Raghunathpura village in Fatehpur. They were returning from a condolence meeting in Laxmangarh when the collision happened.
All six women were traveling together in the same vehicle. Men from the family followed in another car, police confirmed. The violent impact completely mangled the car, trapping the occupants inside the wreckage.
Emergency Response and Hospitalization
Police teams from Fatehpur Sadar, Kotwali and Laxmangarh rushed to the accident site. They worked quickly to extract the victims from the damaged vehicle. Rescue personnel shifted the injured to Fatehpur sub-district hospital for initial treatment.
Medical staff later referred the seriously injured patients to SK Hospital in Sikar for advanced care. Reports indicate one of the injured women remains in critical condition at the hospital.
Victims Identified
Authorities released the names of the deceased women. The victims include Mohani Devi (80), Indra (60), Asha (60), Chanda (55), Santosh Devi (45) and Tulsi Devi (45).
The injured individuals were identified as driver Waseem and two women named Sonu and Barkha. Police placed the bodies in the mortuary at Fatehpur hospital for further procedures.
Official Response and Investigation
Local MLA Hakam Ali and other public representatives visited the accident site. They met with grieving family members to offer condolences and support.
Police took the truck driver into custody immediately after the collision. Sikar police authorities have launched a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding this fatal accident. They are examining all factors that may have contributed to the tragic event.
