SIT Flags Irregularities in Ram Temple Donation Embezzlement Case
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) looking into the alleged embezzlement of donations meant for the Ram Temple in Ayodhya has flagged significant irregularities in the collection and utilization of funds. According to sources, the SIT has not given a clean chit to any individual or organization involved so far, and the investigation is continuing.
The SIT was constituted after complaints surfaced that crores of rupees collected from devotees for the temple construction were misappropriated. The team has been scrutinizing bank records, donation receipts, and statements from key officials.
Details of Irregularities Uncovered
The SIT has found discrepancies between the amount collected and the amount deposited in the official temple fund. A preliminary report indicates that a substantial portion of the donations, estimated to be in the range of several crores, is unaccounted for. The investigation has also revealed that some collection agents failed to provide proper receipts to donors.
