Newlywed Woman Allegedly Flees Matrimonial Home with Valuables in Sirsa District
In a startling development from Sirsa district, a recently married woman from Punjab has reportedly disappeared from her matrimonial home along with substantial cash and jewellery. The incident has sent shockwaves through the local community and prompted an immediate police investigation.
Discovery of Missing Valuables Triggers Police Complaint
The alarming situation came to light when the woman's in-laws discovered that valuable items were missing from their home after she failed to return from what was supposed to be a visit to her parental home. According to the formal complaint lodged with authorities, the 21-year-old bride departed from the house claiming she was traveling to her family residence in Ludhiana district.
When her concerned in-laws contacted her family in Punjab, they received the disturbing news that she had never arrived at her destination. This revelation immediately raised suspicions and prompted the family to approach local law enforcement officials for assistance.
Details of the Marriage and Missing Items
The complainant, a resident of Chilakni Dhab village in Ellenabad, revealed that her son had married the woman from a Ludhiana village on August 13, 2025. She emphasized that the marriage ceremony was conducted without any dowry exchange, following proper traditions.
Following the wedding celebrations, the groom's family had presented the bride with generous gifts including:
- Approximately 4 tolas of gold jewellery
- Around 25 tolas of silver ornaments
- Various other valuable items
Initial days after the marriage appeared normal, with no indication of impending trouble. However, on the morning of February 26, the situation took an unexpected turn when the bride announced her intention to visit her parents in Punjab.
The Disappearance and Police Investigation
Before departing, the woman allegedly collected all the gifted gold and silver jewellery along with Rs 5,000 in cash. Her subsequent disappearance has left both families bewildered and concerned for her safety.
"They suspect that either someone lured her away or she deliberately left with the valuables. We are investigating the matter thoroughly," stated a police officer involved in the case.
Law enforcement authorities have registered a First Information Report (FIR) based on the statements provided by the complainants. Investigators have initiated multiple efforts to trace the missing woman, including attempting to track her mobile phone location. However, her device has remained switched off since her disappearance, complicating search efforts.
Police are currently pursuing all available leads while examining whether external influence played a role in her sudden departure or if this was a premeditated action. The investigation continues as authorities work to unravel the circumstances surrounding this puzzling case.
