Interrogation Reveals Disturbing Details

During intensive interrogation, the accused allegedly confessed to his involvement in the trafficking racket. He revealed that approximately 15 days prior, he had sold a newborn from a family residing in Medi village to a buyer located in Ahmedabad for Rs 2 lakh. Preliminary investigations have corroborated this claim, according to police statements.

The confession provided critical leads, enabling the AHTU team to expand their probe significantly. This expansion led to the apprehension of four additional individuals linked to the racket, bringing the total number of arrests to five. Officials have indicated that the gang was actively involved in trafficking infants, suggesting the existence of a well-organized network operating across multiple districts.

Organized Network Uncovered

The case has exposed a disturbing pattern of organized crime, with the trafficking network allegedly spanning several districts. Police are continuing their investigations to uncover the full extent of the racket and identify any other accomplices or victims involved.

A formal case has been registered at the Khedbrahma police station under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. This legal action underscores the seriousness with which authorities are treating the incident, aiming to ensure justice is served and such crimes are deterred in the future.

The bust serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing challenges in combating human trafficking, particularly involving vulnerable infants. It also highlights the effectiveness of coordinated police efforts and community tip-offs in disrupting such illegal activities. Further updates are expected as the investigation progresses.
