According to police sources, the SUV was traveling from Panposh to Deogaon when it lost control on the Balu Ghat-Rooptola stretch of National Highway 143. This loss of control triggered a devastating chain reaction. The vehicle first rammed into a roadside cart, then collided with a dumper truck. It subsequently hit another woman before striking the 18-year-old victim, who was standing by the roadside. The impact was so severe that the SUV overturned after the series of collisions.
Victim Identified and Eyewitness Accounts
The deceased has been identified as Sabina Soren, a resident of Rooptola. Tragically, she succumbed to her injuries before she could be transported to a hospital. Her body has been placed in a morgue for further procedures. Meanwhile, the injured occupants of the SUV were rushed to Rourkela Government Hospital (RGH) for urgent medical treatment.
