According to police reports, the incident came to light when a local resident, Rohit Jaiswal, noticed the child crying for help while passing by the accused's house. Sensing something was amiss, Jaiswal entered the premises and discovered the young girl tied to the front staircase. He immediately took action by alerting the child helpline and police, and also recorded a video of the scene, which later circulated widely on social media.
When Jaiswal intervened, the accused allegedly argued with him, but by the time officials arrived at the spot, the child had been rescued and handed over to her parents. A medical examination was promptly conducted to assess her condition.

Police stated that the girl informed them she had been beaten with a baton during the ordeal.
