NIA Files Supplementary Chargesheet in Red Fort Blast Case
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a supplementary chargesheet against three more individuals in connection with the Red Fort blast case, including an absconding paediatrician. This brings the total number of persons chargesheeted in the case to 13, according to officials familiar with the development.
Details of the New Accused
The three newly chargesheeted individuals are identified as Dr. Mohammad Shafi, a paediatrician who is currently absconding, and two other accomplices whose names have not been disclosed. They have been charged under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).
Previous Chargesheets and Prime Accused
The earlier chargesheets included the prime accused, the driver of the explosive-laden car, who died in the blast. The NIA had previously chargesheeted 10 other individuals, including the mastermind and other conspirators. The blast occurred on January 26, 2023, near the Red Fort in Delhi, causing multiple casualties.

The NIA has been conducting a thorough investigation into the case, with multiple arrests and seizures of incriminating material. The agency has also recovered explosives, electronic devices, and documents linking the accused to the conspiracy.
