Senior IPS Officer Rakesh Aggarwal Takes Over as NIA Director General
The Government of India has formally appointed senior Indian Police Service officer Rakesh Aggarwal as the Director General of the National Investigation Agency. This appointment came through an official order issued on Wednesday.

According to the personnel ministry's order, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet approved Aggarwal's elevation to the top position at NIA. The 1994-batch IPS officer from the Himachal Pradesh cadre will serve as Director General until August 31, 2028.
This date marks his superannuation from service. Aggarwal has been serving as Special Director General in the anti-terror agency and was already handling additional responsibilities as the acting Director General before this formal appointment.
