A tragic incident unfolded in Bihar's Samastipur district when a railway employee was shot dead late on Thursday night. The victim's body was discovered on the roadside on Friday morning within the jurisdiction of the Tajpur police station area.

Details of the Fatal Attack

Family's Account and Public Outrage

The victim's brother, Manoj, provided a harrowing account of the events. "My brother served as a loco pilot at Samastipur railway station. He finished his duty around 11:40 PM and was on his way home when unidentified individuals shot him. We received information about this horrific incident around 5:30 AM," Manoj stated.

The killing sparked immediate public outrage, with local residents blocking roads in protest against the violent crime. The community demanded swift action from law enforcement authorities to bring the perpetrators to justice.

Conflicting Motives Under Investigation

Police officials initially pointed to robbery as a possible motive for the attack, suggesting the victim may have been targeted after resisting a theft attempt. However, family members have presented a different narrative, alleging that a land dispute lies at the heart of the murder.

Samastipur ASP Sanjay Kumar Pandey addressed the conflicting claims, stating: "The family has pointed to the involvement of relatives and alleged a land dispute connection. The matter remains under active investigation as we examine all possible angles."

Personal Tragedy and Survivors

The tragedy has left behind a devastated family. Pramod Kumar had been married for five years and is survived by his wife and three young children, who now face an uncertain future without their primary breadwinner.

The investigation continues as authorities work to determine the precise circumstances and motives behind this brutal killing that has shaken the Samastipur community.
