In a significant recognition of exemplary service, several Punjab Police officers have been selected for prestigious national and state awards on the eve of the 77th Republic Day. The Union Ministry of Home Affairs announced the recipients, highlighting the dedication of law enforcement personnel in the border state.

President's Medal for Distinguished Service

Three distinguished Indian Police Service (IPS) officers of the Punjab cadre have been chosen for the President's Medal for Distinguished Service, one of the highest honors in police service. The awardees include:

  • Vibhu Raj, Additional Director General of Police (Investigation)
  • L K Yadav, Director of the Bureau of Investigation (BOI)
  • Arun Pal Singh, ADGP (Jails)

This recognition underscores their exceptional contributions to maintaining law and order and investigative excellence in Punjab.

Medal for Meritorious Service Recipients

Fifteen officers and officials have been selected for the Medal for Meritorious Service, acknowledging their consistent and commendable performance. The list includes:

  • Jasdev Singh Sidhu, Deputy Inspector General (Security, Raj Bhawan)
  • Five Punjab Police Service (PPS) officers: Randeep Singh Mann, Rajan Parminder Singh, Navdeep Singh, Sapinder Kaur, and Harinderdeep Singh
  • Inspectors Sukhjit Singh, Harish Kumar, Manjit Kaur, Talwinder Singh, Rajinder Kumar, and Pritpal Singh
  • Sub-inspectors Dharamjit Kaur and Bhupinder Singh
  • Assistant Sub-inspector Swaranjit Kaur

These individuals represent various units including the Anti-Gangster Task Force, Vigilance Bureau, and Special Protection Unit, showcasing the diverse roles within Punjab Police.

Chief Minister's Rakshak Padak Awards

On the recommendations of the Punjab government, the Governor of Punjab announced five recipients for the Chief Minister's Rakshak Padak award. The honorees are:

  • Harvinder Singh, PPS officer and Sunam DSP
  • Inspector Nirmal Singh
  • Head Constable Sukhmanpreet Singh
  • ASI Balbir Chand
  • Senior Constable Dharampal Singh

This award specifically recognizes acts of bravery and protection services rendered by police personnel.

CM's Medal for Outstanding Devotion to Duty

Nineteen officers and officials have been selected for the Chief Minister's Medal for Outstanding Devotion to Duty. The awardees include:

  • Four PPS officers: Baljit Singh, Manvinderbir Singh, Daljit Singh, and Davinder Kumar
  • Inspectors Mandeep Singh, Rushika, Prabhjot Kaur, Kulwant Singh, Sumit Mor, and Pushvinder Singh
  • Sub-inspectors Gurpal Singh and Bhupinder Singh
  • ASIs Gurjant Singh, Gurvir Singh, Gurpreet Singh, and Kuljit Singh
  • Head constables Mandeep Singh and Sukhwinder Singh
  • Senior constable Anu Bala
