Pune Construction Worker Held for Alleged Murder of Relative with LPG Cylinder
In a shocking incident in Pune, a 31-year-old construction worker was arrested on Tuesday night for allegedly bludgeoning his relative to death using an LPG cylinder. The brutal attack occurred on Monday night at a workers' colony within a construction project located in Kudale Vasti.
Details of the Incident and Arrest
The MIDC Bhosari police have identified the victim as Balaji Khandade, aged 29, who hailed from Nanded district. The accused, Pradeep Gundare, 31, from Moshi and originally from Latur district, has been charged under Section 103 (murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
According to police officials, Gundare and Khandade were distant relatives who both worked at the construction site. Khandade resided in the workers' colony at the location.
Dispute Over Cooking Dinner Leads to Fatal Attack
The altercation erupted around 11:30 PM on Monday when Gundare and Khandade got into a heated argument over the preparation of dinner. In a fit of rage, Gundare reportedly picked up an LPG cylinder and used it to repeatedly strike Khandade.
The victim sustained severe injuries from the assault. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but succumbed to his wounds during treatment.
Police Investigation and Arrest
After the attack, Gundare fled the scene. However, the MIDC Bhosari police swiftly launched an investigation and managed to apprehend him on Tuesday night. Authorities have confirmed that the investigation is ongoing to gather further details and evidence related to the case.
