Pune Tragedy: Elderly Woman Dies, Husband Injured in PMPML Bus-Scooter Collision
A devastating road accident in Pune has claimed the life of a 65-year-old woman and left her husband seriously injured. The incident occurred on Thursday afternoon in Dehugaon when a Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) bus collided with their scooter.

The victims, identified as Bhagirathi Vibhute (65) and her husband Trimbak Vibhute (69), residents of Patilnagar in Chikhali, were traveling from Dehugaon towards Chikhali on their two-wheeler. According to the Dehu Road police, the couple was approaching Bhairavnath Chowk when the PMPML bus struck their scooter from behind.
The impact caused both individuals to fall onto the road, sustaining severe injuries. Bhagirathi Vibhute was rushed to a nearby hospital but unfortunately succumbed to her injuries. Her husband, Trimbak Vibhute, is currently undergoing medical treatment at a local healthcare facility.
Police Investigation and Legal Action
In response to the tragic event, the Dehu Road police have registered a case of causing death due to negligence against the PMPML bus driver. Authorities have issued an official notice to the driver, mandating his full cooperation with the ongoing investigation.
"The couple fell and suffered injuries. The woman was taken to a hospital, where she succumbed to injuries," stated an officer from the Dehu Road police station, providing a preliminary account of the incident.
