The Pune Rural police have confirmed that the three-year-old girl from Nasrapur died of asphyxia. Pune Superintendent of Police Sandeep Singh Gill informed the Times of India on Monday that the post-mortem report has been received.
Details of the Incident
The arrested accused, Bhimrao Kamble, allegedly gagged the girl by putting a cloth in her mouth, leading to her death. Gill stated, "The deceased girl also had injuries on her head. It is suspected that she suffered these injuries during the sexual assault in the cowshed."
Sequence of Events
According to police reports, Kamble took the girl to a cowshed in Nasrapur village, off the Pune–Satara road, on Friday. There, he sexually assaulted her and subsequently killed her. The police are continuing their investigation into the matter.
