Youth Brutally Murdered in Pudukkottai Over Jallikattu Bull Rivalry
A shocking murder has rocked Pudukkottai district in Tamil Nadu. Early on Monday morning, a 25-year-old man lost his life in a violent attack near Vallathirakottai. Police confirm the killing stemmed from a bitter dispute between two youth groups over jallikattu bulls.
Long-Standing Feud Turns Deadly
According to police officials, the two groups belong to the same community. They have been locked in a conflict for some time. The core issue involves catching and selling bulls used in the traditional jallikattu sport. This rivalry is not new. It previously turned violent on October 20 last year.
In that earlier incident, the deceased man, identified as Inbarasan, and his associates allegedly assaulted a 24-year-old named Parameswaran. The attack happened at a Tasmac shop. Authorities registered a case at that time. Police arrested four individuals in connection with the assault. All four later secured bail and were released.
The Fatal Morning Attack
The situation escalated dramatically on Monday. Around 7:30 in the morning, Inbarasan was traveling on a two-wheeler. A group of men intercepted him. Police named the key assailants as Vignesh (21), Rogesh, Thirumoorthy, Seenu, and Ranjith. They were accompanied by other associates.
The group attacked Inbarasan with weapons. The assault caused severe and fatal injuries. Locals who witnessed the horrific scene immediately rushed to help. They took the critically injured Inbarasan to the Pudukkottai Government Medical College Hospital.
Unfortunately, doctors could not save him. Medical staff declared Inbarasan dead upon arrival at the hospital.
Police Launch Manhunt for Accused
Law enforcement has registered a murder case following the incident. A special police team has been formed with one clear objective. Their mission is to trace and apprehend the absconding accused. The individuals named by police have fled the area and are currently at large.
This tragic event highlights the dangerous escalation of local disputes. It has left the Vallathirakottai area in a state of tension and grief. The community now awaits justice as the police investigation intensifies.
