In a series of commendable actions, the Prayagraj police proved their dedication during the ongoing Magh Mela by swiftly assisting distressed pilgrims. Officers successfully recovered lost valuables, including mobile phones and wallets, and even reunited a lost child with his family, ensuring the spiritual gathering remained a positive experience for all.
Swift Recovery of Lost Valuables at Sangam
The first incident involved Kashish Yadav, a resident of Dokariya in Madhya Pradesh. On Tuesday, she lost her mobile phone near the Sangam Nose area after arriving with family for a holy dip. Distraught, she approached policeman Dharmendra Tiwari. Demonstrating efficiency, Tiwari managed to locate and return the phone to Kashish within just one hour, bringing a wide smile back to her face.
In a similar event, Gautam Dutt from Sikandra, Agra, lost his bag and mobile phone while bathing at the Dashashwamedh Ghat. He sought help from policeman Rohit Singh, who successfully traced both items. The recovered belongings were later handed over to Dutt at the Kotwali Police Station.
Persistent Efforts Yield Results
The police's persistence was further highlighted in the case of Saket Shiv Shankar from Solapur, Maharashtra. He lost his wallet and phone during his visit to the Sangam. After an extensive but futile personal search, Saket reported the loss at the Jhunsi police station. Responding promptly, the Station House Officer (SHO) and his team rushed to the bathing ghat. Following a thorough search, they found the mobile phone and the wallet, which contained Rs 15,000. All items were duly returned to the relieved owner.
Another devotee, Rohini from Jogeshwari, Mumbai, faced a similar predicament after losing her bag while visiting the Bade Hanuman temple within the Magh Mela grounds. She reported the incident at the Mahavir Police Station. A dedicated police team took up the task, managed to locate the bag, and returned it to Rohini.
Child Reunited with Father After Separation
Beyond lost property, the police also ensured familial safety. A young child, a resident of Chadi under the Industrial Nagar Police Station in Prayagraj, got separated from his parents during a visit to the Sangam Nose area. The Prayagwal Police team launched an extensive search operation. Their efforts paid off when they found the child and successfully reunited him with his grateful father, Govind Nishad.
These consecutive acts of diligence by the Prayagraj police force underscore their proactive approach and commitment to public service during large-scale religious events. Their swift actions not only protected valuable possessions but also safeguarded the well-being of pilgrims, reinforcing trust in the authorities managing the Magh Mela.
