A tragic incident in Mumbai's Dahisar area resulted in the death of a 58-year-old pedestrian on Tuesday. The man lost his life after being struck by the luggage compartment door of a private bus, leading to police action against the driver.
Details of the Fatal Incident
The victim has been identified as Bhimrao More, a resident of Ashokvan in Dahisar, who lived with his sons and their families. The accident occurred when More was walking down the road in Dahisar (East). According to information received by his family, around 6 pm on Tuesday, the driver of a private bus opened the door of the luggage storage area located on the left side of the vehicle.
In a devastating turn, the open door hit Bhimrao More directly on his head. The impact was severe, causing him to collapse immediately on the ground. He sustained serious injuries from the blow.
Rescue Attempt and Aftermath
Passersby who witnessed the shocking event rushed to More's aid. With the assistance of the bus driver himself, they transported the injured man to Samarpan Hospital in Dahisar in an effort to save his life. Despite these efforts, medical professionals at the hospital pronounced More dead.
The family was initially informed about the accident by an acquaintance. Following the confirmation of his death, More's family lodged a formal complaint with the police.
Police Action and Case Registered
Acting on the complaint, the police have registered a First Information Report (FIR). The case has been filed against the bus driver on charges of negligence.
