In this specific phase, a total of 52 cellphones, which were either stolen or lost, were handed back to their rightful owners. The collective value of these devices is estimated to be over Rs 10 lakh. The operation's success, however, extends far beyond this single event.

Since its launch in January 2025, the joint efforts of the DIU and Bettiah police have yielded remarkable results. The teams have managed to retrieve and return an impressive 365 mobile phones to date. The total market value of all recovered devices is approximately Rs 53 lakh, highlighting the operation's substantial impact on curbing property crime and providing financial relief to citizens.

Strategy and Public Appeal for Continued Success

Explaining the methodology behind the operation, Bettiah SP Shaurya Suman emphasized the role of technical support and coordinated teamwork. The operation relies heavily on advanced mobile tracking techniques. "As a result, 365 mobile phones were recovered in a short time, with a total value estimated at Rs 53 lakh," stated SP Suman.

He further clarified that the campaign's objectives are broader than just asset recovery. "This campaign is not limited to mobile phone recovery; it has also strengthened crime control and a sense of security among the public," he added. The visible action against theft has contributed to enhancing public trust in the police force.

Citizen Cooperation is Key

To build on this success, SP Shaurya Suman made a crucial appeal to the residents of Bettiah and the surrounding areas. He urged citizens to immediately report any lost or stolen mobile phone to their nearest police station or the cyber cell. The police have assured that prompt reporting significantly increases the likelihood of tracking and recovering the device.

The authorities have confirmed that Operation Muskaan will continue its mission to provide relief and justice to as many affected people as possible. This initiative stands as a testament to the police department's commitment to leveraging technology and community cooperation for effective law enforcement and public service.
