A tragic incident occurred on Saturday morning in Kolkata's Bhukailash Road area under the Ekbalpur Police Station, where one person died and another sustained serious injuries due to electrocution.
Details of the Incident
The deceased has been identified as Shibsharan Prasad Sau (51), while the injured, Debsharan Sau (45), is currently undergoing treatment at SSKM Hospital. The incident took place around 7:05 am when Shibsharan came into contact with a live wire while hanging wet clothes at his residence. Debsharan was electrocuted while attempting to rescue him.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the accident was caused by a fault in the personal electric meter at the premises. Officials from the Calcutta Electric Supply Corporation (CESC) visited the spot to assess the situation.
