Nuh police have arrested two cow smugglers after a brief encounter in the early hours of Tuesday. The suspects were identified as residents of Mewat district. According to police, a patrolling team intercepted a vehicle suspected of carrying illegally transported cows. The suspects opened fire, leading to a brief exchange of gunfire. Both suspects sustained injuries and were taken into custody. They were subsequently admitted to a hospital for treatment.

The police team, acting on a tip-off, set up a checkpoint near the village of Tauru. When the suspicious vehicle approached, the driver attempted to flee but was blocked. The suspects then fired at the police, who retaliated in self-defense. After the encounter, police recovered five cows from the vehicle, along with a country-made pistol and live cartridges.
