Immediate Response and Security Measures

The complaint regarding this serious security threat was officially filed by Arun Barku Thakur, a 55-year-old senior security supervisor at the NSE regional office situated in Kohinoor City, Kurla (West). Upon receiving the email, NSE Deputy Manager Shashant Mishra immediately alerted the security department, initiating a chain of security protocols.

The threatening message was promptly forwarded to the internal security email ID, and senior security officials were notified along with the NSE control room located at Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC). Recognizing the gravity of the situation, NSE officials approached the Vinoba Bhave Nagar Police Station to formally lodge a complaint.

Police Investigation Underway

The VB Nagar police have registered an official offense in response to the threatening email, and the crime branch has initiated a parallel investigation. Law enforcement authorities are working diligently to trace the origin of the email and assess the credibility of the threats.

The NSE regional office operates from the fifth and sixth floors of the Kohinoor City building, housing critical infrastructure including a data centre and brokerage office where online trading activities for Mumbai are managed. This makes the security of this location particularly crucial for financial market stability.

Police officials have confirmed that they are taking all necessary precautions and conducting a thorough investigation to identify the sender of the threatening email and evaluate the potential security risks to the mentioned locations throughout Mumbai.
