Private School Teacher Dies in Tragic Highway Collision
A 38-year-old private school teacher lost her life in a tragic road accident on the Mumbai-Agra highway near Nashik on Tuesday. The victim, identified as Manisha Nirbhavne, a resident of Datta Nagar in Ozar, was on her regular commute to work when the incident occurred.
Details of the Fatal Accident
The accident took place in the morning hours near the Pimpalgaon toll plaza, roughly 30 kilometers from Nashik city. According to police reports, Manisha was riding her e-scooter towards the school in Pimpalgaon where she worked, a daily journey of approximately 20 kilometers from her home.
As she was crossing the bridge over the Kadwa river, a speeding car hit her scooter from behind. The impact was severe. Inspector Pradeep Deshmukh from the Pimpalgaon police station confirmed that personnel rushed to the spot immediately.
The driver of the car, a resident of Dwarka in Nashik city, did not flee the scene. He was immediately apprehended and taken to the police station for questioning. Manisha Nirbhavne sustained critical head injuries in the collision.
Legal Action and Aftermath
Despite being rushed to the rural hospital in Pimpalgaon, the teacher was declared dead on arrival. The Pimpalgaon police have registered a formal case against the car driver.
The charges are serious and include sections for causing death by negligence, acts endangering life, and rash driving under both the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Motor Vehicle Act (MVA). The investigation is ongoing to determine the exact speed and circumstances that led to the fatal crash.
Inspector Deshmukh shared that the deceased is survived by her family, including her husband, who is a lawyer, and a son studying in Class VII. The incident has sent shockwaves through the local community and the school where she taught.
