The arrest was made on Saturday based on a formal complaint filed by the child's mother, who bravely approached the authorities despite facing threats.
Chilling Details of the Alleged Assault Emerge
According to police sources, the horrific incident is said to have occurred inside the family's home on the outskirts of Nagpur on December 14. The abuse allegedly took place between 3:00 PM and 6:30 PM. The man's wife, aged 26, first grew suspicious when she noticed a drastic and unusual change in their toddler's behavior. The child appeared visibly traumatised and was not acting like her normal self.
Upon gentle inquiry, the little girl reportedly used gestures to communicate what had happened. She indicated that her father had forced her to raise her hand and then inappropriately touched her private parts. When the child tried to resist, the accused allegedly responded by slapping her, as stated in the police complaint.
A Mother's Courage and the Husband's Threats
Shocked by her daughter's account, the mother confronted her husband about the allegations. Instead of showing remorse, the man is accused of violently thrashing his wife. He then threatened her, demanding she remain silent about the entire episode. Living in fear of further violence, the woman spent the next few days gathering courage before finally approaching the MIDC police station on December 19 to file an official report.
