Nagarkurnool Police Detain 17-Year-Old Student in Minor Rape and Blackmail Case
In a disturbing case from Telangana, Nagarkurnool police have detained a 17-year-old Intermediate student for allegedly raping three minor girls of his age, impregnating one of them, and engaging in extensive blackmail. The incident, which unfolded over several months in 2025, came to light recently when one survivor confided in her parents after enduring prolonged torment.
Multiple Arrests Made Including Doctors and Friend
Police have made additional arrests in connection with the case. The accused's 22-year-old friend was arrested for allegedly providing his house where one of the assaults occurred. Furthermore, two doctors and a nurse from a private hospital were taken into custody for illegally performing an abortion on the pregnant minor survivor. This highlights the broader network involved in the crimes.
Details of the Alleged Crimes and Blackmail Scheme
The accused allegedly lured the survivors under the pretext of love before sexually assaulting them. He reportedly filmed the assaults and used the videos to blackmail the girls, demanding money and threatening to release the footage on social media or circulate it among their family members. This pattern of abuse continued for months, creating a cycle of fear and exploitation.
Nagarkurnool SP Sangram Singh G Patil stated, "Based on her complaint, we investigated and found that he had sexually assaulted and blackmailed two other minor girls. Of the three survivors, one is from his college and two from other colleges." The accused took the impregnated survivor to a local hospital for the abortion, leading to the arrest of the medical personnel involved.
Investigation and Legal Actions Taken
The case broke when one survivor, unable to bear the harassment any longer, told her parents. Her family confronted the accused, physically assaulted him, seized his cellphone, and handed him over to police along with the device. DSP Srinivas Yadav noted, "We have, so far, retrieved the videos of the assault on one survivor from the accused's phone. We visited the hospital where the abortion was carried out, and seized its records." Further investigation is ongoing.
