A case of extortion, financial exploitation, and criminal intimidation has been registered by the Parksite police in Mumbai against a woman. The complainant is a 58-year-old hotelier from Ghatkopar who alleges the woman used their relationship to extract large sums of money and later threatened him with social defamation.
From Restaurant Meeting to Financial Demands
The hotelier, who owns and operates three hotels in Mumbai, stated that he first met the woman in 2022 at one of his restaurants. According to his police complaint, she introduced herself as divorced, and the two subsequently developed a close personal relationship.
Over time, the woman began requesting financial assistance on various pretexts. The complainant claims he transferred money to her both in cash and through online banking transactions directly to her account.
Escalating Demands and Threats
The financial requests grew significantly. The hotelier alleges that between September 2024 and December 2024 alone, he paid her approximately ₹22 lakh. Prior to this, in October–November 2023, he paid ₹10 lakh after she claimed to be pregnant.
The situation took a threatening turn when the woman allegedly escalated her demands. She is accused of threatening the hotelier with social defamation and filing false cases against him. Her demand was stark: either a one-time payment of ₹2 crore or a monthly payment of ₹1 lakh for life.
Confrontation at Home and Cross-Complaints
The alleged harassment reached his doorstep last year when the woman visited his residence. There, she reportedly informed his family members about her claimed pregnancy and repeated her monetary demands.
Following this, the hotelier lodged written complaints at the Parksite and Ghatkopar police stations in December 2025. In a retaliatory move, the woman subsequently filed a rape case against him at the Ghatkopar Police Station. The Parksite police have now booked the woman based on the hotelier's complaint, setting the stage for a complex legal battle.
