The accident happened in the early hours of Saturday morning along the Neralakatte-Tallur road on the Kollur route. According to police reports, a private bus traveling from Bengaluru to Kundapur was involved in the collision with a motorcycle near the Indian Oil petrol pump at Shetrakatte in Gulwadi village.

The bus driver, identified as Sampath K Shetty from Shivamogga district, was transporting passengers when the incident occurred around 8:12 am. At a curve on the road, the motorcyclist named Vijay was approaching from the opposite direction.

During this maneuver, Vijay moved his motorcycle toward the extreme right side of the road.
