Tamil Nadu CM Vijay Meets Sonia, Rahul Gandhi in Delhi

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay met Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi at Sonia Gandhi's residence at 10 Janpath in New Delhi on Wednesday.

Congress Joins Tamil Nadu Government

Two Congress legislators were recently inducted into the council of ministers led by Vijay. This move marks the first time the Congress party has become part of the Tamil Nadu government since it lost power in the state in 1967.

Vijay's Delhi Visit

Vijay is on a three-day visit to the national capital and is expected to attend the NITI Aayog Governing Council meeting on Thursday. This is his second trip to New Delhi since assuming office as Chief Minister in May.

Upon arriving in Delhi, the Chief Minister checked into Tamil Nadu House. According to sources, he is expected to address the NITI Aayog Governing Council meeting and present the state's priorities on economic development and welfare programmes.

NITI Aayog Meeting

The meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, brings together Chief Ministers and administrators from across the country to discuss development priorities and issues related to cooperative federalism, sources said.

During his visit, Vijay is also expected to meet Vice President C P Radhakrishnan and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
