A case of rape of a 17-year-old minor girl has come to light in the Sikandra police station area of Kanpur Dehat district. The incident was reported after the victim's mother submitted a written complaint to the police.
Complaint and Registration of Case
Based on the complaint, the police registered a case against the named accused under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act and other relevant sections. The mother, a resident of the Sikandra police station area, alleged that a youth from the village, identified as Sunil Kushwaha, lured and took away her minor daughter, and then raped her. The complaint further stated that another youth from the same village, Vishal, was also involved alongside Sunil in the incident.
Police Action and Investigation
Taking cognisance of the matter, Sikandra police station in-charge Janardan Pratap Singh ordered immediate action. He stated, “A case has been registered on the basis of the mother’s written complaint. The victim has been sent for medical examination. The matter is being investigated thoroughly.” He further added, “Legal action will be taken based on whatever facts emerge during the investigation. Police teams are conducting raids for the arrest of the accused and they will be arrested soon.”
The police have assured that all necessary steps are being taken to ensure justice for the victim. The investigation is ongoing, and further details are awaited.
