Five Minor Girls Escape from Government Shelter Home in Mathura's Vrindavan
In a concerning incident, five minor girls, aged between 14 and 17 years, fled from a government-run shelter home located in Mathura's Vrindavan area. The escape occurred on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday, prompting immediate police action and a search operation to locate the missing minors.
Police Launch Intensive Search Operation
Following the incident, shelter superintendent Gayatri Mishra alerted the Vrindavan police station early Tuesday morning. Mathura Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shlok Kumar personally visited the facility to assess the situation and demanded a detailed report on the circumstances leading to the escape.
Police teams have been actively scanning CCTV footage from the area and questioning local residents to gather clues about the girls' whereabouts. As part of the investigation, an FIR has been registered under Section 137 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which pertains to kidnapping charges. The complaint was filed by the social welfare department, highlighting the seriousness of the situation.
Two Girls Traced, Search Continues for Others
In a positive development, authorities have successfully traced two of the five missing girls. However, efforts are still underway to locate the remaining three minors. SSP Kumar has assured that multiple specialized police teams have been formed to intensify the search operation across Mathura and neighboring areas.
The shelter home is situated in Chaitanya Vihar Colony under the jurisdiction of the Vrindavan police station. Authorities have emphasized that strict action will be taken against anyone found negligent in their duties regarding the safety and security of the shelter home residents.
