Man's body found mutilated by dogs at Kanpur railway ground

A shocking and gruesome discovery sent waves of panic through the Niralanagar area of Kanpur on Monday morning. The naked body of a young man was found at the local railway ground under horrific circumstances, with stray dogs attacking the remains.

Gruesome Scene at the Railway Ground

Early morning walkers and locals were met with a terrifying sight at the Niralanagar railway ground. The body of a man, later identified as 32-year-old Rahul Awasthi, was found completely unclothed. Stray dogs were seen tearing at the chest and upper part of the face, causing severe mutilation before people could chase them away.

Clues lay scattered near the grim scene. The victim's clothes, including a jacket from a petroleum company and a pair of slippers, were found nearby. A motorcycle, parked at some distance, became a crucial piece of evidence for the police who arrived promptly after being informed.

Victim Identified as Petrol Pump Employee

Using the registration number of the parked bike, police quickly traced the identity of the deceased. Rahul Awasthi was a resident of Sanjaynagar basti and worked at an HP petrol pump located in Ramaipur. Distraught family members who reached the spot revealed that Rahul had not returned home on Sunday night, sparking initial concern.

Relatives provided further personal details, stating that Rahul had been married for three years and the couple did not have children. His wife is employed at a factory in Nauraiya Kheda. The sudden and brutal nature of his death has left the family and local community in profound shock.

High-Level Police Probe Launched

The gravity of the incident prompted an immediate and high-level police response. DCP South Deependra Nath Chaudhary and ADCP Yogesh Kumar personally visited the crime scene. They were accompanied by the Govindnagar police force, a forensic team, and a dog squad to secure and examine the area thoroughly.

"We will investigate all aspects," stated DCP Chaudhary. The body has been sent for a post-mortem examination, and police indicated that further action will be determined based on the autopsy report. The primary focus of the investigation is to ascertain whether this was a murder and, if so, to identify the perpetrator.

Investigators are currently scanning CCTV footage from the surrounding areas and piecing together Rahul's last known movements and contacts. The motive behind the death remains unclear, and police are exploring all possible angles in this mysterious case.
