Mangaluru ACP Highlights Critical Role of Forensic Precision in Criminal Justice

International Summit Focuses on Forensic Innovation
Kulkarni made these remarks during the valedictory ceremony of CRIFO 2K26, a two-day international summit titled Forensic Fusion: Intuition to Innovation. The event was held at the Maria Paiva Hall of the School of Social Work (Autonomous), Roshni Nilaya, in Mangaluru. Organized by the postgraduate department of criminology and forensic science and the internal quality assurance cell (IQAC) of Roshni Nilaya, the summit was a collaborative effort with AVZ Cyber Security Solutions LLC, Dubai, and Avanzo Cyber Security Solutions Pvt Ltd, India.
Digital Evolution and Forensic Challenges
In her address, Kulkarni delved into the rapid evolution of the digital world and its significant implications for crime and investigation. She cited real-life cases to underscore the escalating importance of digital and forensic expertise in modern policing. Kulkarni detailed the evidence collection process, emphasizing its critical role in facilitating effective investigations and ensuring justice delivery. She added that proper handling, preservation, and documentation of evidence are essential to maintain its integrity and admissibility in court.

The presidential address was delivered by Meena Monteiro, dean of the department of PG studies, reinforcing the summit's focus on integrating intuition with technological advancements in forensic practices.
