Man Walks to Police Station with Nail in Head, Alleges Family Attack in Firozabad

In a shocking incident from Firozabad, a 22-year-old man walked into a police station with a three-centimetre iron nail embedded in his head, bleeding and in severe pain. He alleged that his father and brother had attacked him while he was asleep, amid an ongoing property dispute.

Details of the Incident and Police Response

The man, identified as Sunil Singh, managed to flee from his home and traveled nearly 4 kilometers in an e-rickshaw to reach the Narakhi police station. Upon arrival, he sought immediate help from officers, who promptly took him to a local hospital for preliminary treatment. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was later referred to Agra for advanced medical care.

In his formal complaint, Sunil alleged that in the early hours of Thursday, his father, Hari Singh, and brother, Ajay Singh, overpowered him at their residence. He claimed they hammered the nail into his head during the assault. "They caught hold of me while I was sleeping and assaulted me," Sunil stated in his allegations.

Background and Conflicting Claims

Sunil further asserted that this was not the first such incident. He alleged that earlier this month, the two family members had driven a nail into his head on a previous occasion. After that incident, they attempted to portray him as mentally unstable by sending him to a de-addiction centre, according to his claims.

However, family members, who operate a small grocery store in the area, presented a different version of events. They contended that Sunil struggles with alcohol addiction and explained that he had been sent to a de-addiction facility for necessary treatment, not as part of any malicious plot.

Legal Action and Investigation Status

Police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against Hari Singh and Ajay Singh under sections 115(2) for voluntarily causing hurt and section 351 for criminal intimidation under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Narakhi Station House Officer Rakesh Kumar Giri provided an update on the case, stating, "An FIR has been lodged, and we are verifying the claims of both sides. Sunil is undergoing treatment and is stable."

The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to ascertain the full circumstances surrounding this distressing case, which highlights tensions within the family over property matters.
