Man Kills Friend with Tile After Drinking Session in Sirsa

A late-night drinking session turned deadly in Rori village of Sirsa district on Wednesday, when a man allegedly killed his friend by hitting him on the head with an interlocking tile.

Upon reaching the spot, police found Devendra, a native of Farrukhabad in Uttar Pradesh, lying on a cot inside a room at a tile manufacturing unit where he worked. The weapon used in the crime, an interlocking tile, was recovered from the scene.

According to preliminary investigation, Devendra had been working at the interlocking tiles factory in Sirsa for the past seven to eight years and was unmarried. He lived in a room within the factory premises with his friend Ravi Singh, the prime suspect in the case.

Police said that Devendra's body was discovered on Thursday morning, while Ravi was found missing. Blood-stained tiles and liquor bottles were recovered from the room, indicating that the two had been drinking together before an argument broke out.

During the altercation, Ravi allegedly picked up the tile and struck Devendra on the head, leaving him critically injured. He later succumbed to his injuries at the spot. The accused fled after committing the crime.

Police have registered a case and launched a manhunt to apprehend the accused. Further investigation is underway.
