The survivor, a minor, had visited the shop with a friend, who is also underage. According to police officials, the accused, reportedly under the influence of liquor and wrapped in a shawl, suddenly pulled out a knife. He then held the weapon to the girl's throat, threatening her life.

In a brazen demand, the man turned his focus to the shop owner, demanding a ransom of Rs 1 lakh and a motorcycle. The sudden attack and the ensuing commotion inside the store sent shockwaves through the immediate area.

Fortunately, a police patrol team was stationed nearby. Hearing the disturbance, the team rushed to the spot immediately. The officers managed to overpower the armed man and bring the tense situation under control before any further harm could be done.

Najibabad Circle Officer Nitesh Pratap Singh provided details of the aftermath. He confirmed that during the struggle, the teenage girl sustained a minor knife scratch. The officer also revealed a bizarre detail about the accused's behavior upon capture. "When caught, he repeatedly shouted that he wanted to be arrested and sent to jail," Singh stated.
