Prayagraj: Fatehpur police on Friday detained a 35-year-old man on charges of killing his paramour. The accused, Vijay Kumar Raidas, approached Lalauli police station and allegedly confessed to strangling the woman, in her 30s, and keeping her body at his house in Bahadurpur village under Ghazipur police station limits.
Body Recovery and Investigation
Lalauli police alerted Ghazipur police, who later recovered the body from the residence. According to police, the deceased was married and was living separately from her husband for the past eight years.
Motive Behind the Crime
Vijay told investigators that the two were in a relationship, but he suspected her of being involved with someone else, which led to an argument and the alleged killing. The body has been sent for postmortem, and further investigation is underway.
