Man Dies from Electrocution During Wire Theft Attempt in Krishnagiri

A tragic incident unfolded in Krishnagiri district on Monday when a 40-year-old man lost his life to electrocution. The man was attempting to steal electric wires from a piece of land in Periyapedapalli.

Discovery of the Body

The incident came to light early Monday morning. G Venkatraj, a 60-year-old resident of Periyapedapalli, went to his land as usual. He discovered a burnt body lying there. Venkatraj immediately alerted the Shoolagiri police about the shocking find.

Police officers rushed to the spot and began an inquiry. They recovered the body and sent it to the Krishnagiri Government Medical College and Hospital for a postmortem examination. The deceased was later identified as N Nagaraj from Chinnamattampalli near Shoolagiri.

Illegal Hunting Setup Leads to Tragedy

Preliminary police investigations revealed a dangerous setup on the land. Unidentified individuals had illegally tapped into Venkatraj's electric motor connection. They used the electricity to set up wires intended for hunting wild boars.

Police recovered an electric wire used for this purpose at the scene. An officer explained the sequence of events. "Investigation revealed that Nagaraj died after he got entangled in an electric wire which was left in the land to hunt wild boars, while he was attempting to steal the wires," the officer stated.

Possible Link to Previous Thefts

The police officer provided further insight into the case. He suggested that Nagaraj was most likely responsible for recent thefts in the area. Wires and coils from electric motors had been stolen recently.

A case has been registered regarding this incident. Authorities are continuing their investigation to uncover all details surrounding this fatal event. The community is left to reflect on the dangerous consequences of illegal activities and makeshift hunting methods.
