Woman accuses paramour of exploitation after two-year relationship

In Tarn Taran, a 26-year-old woman from Patti has filed a complaint with the Patti City police, alleging that her paramour exploited her on the pretext of marriage. The police registered a case against the accused on Thursday after investigating the complaint.

The woman stated that she met Gursewak Singh, a resident of Pakhopur, while pursuing her Bachelor of Arts at Sri Guru Arjan Dev College, Chohla Sahib. The two entered into a relationship during their college days.

Accused joined Army in 2022 but continued relationship

According to the complainant, Singh joined the Indian Army in 2022, but they maintained contact. She alleged that over the past two years, he established physical relations with her under the promise of marriage. However, he later refused to marry her, leading to the complaint.

Police register case after inquiry

Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Karamjit Singh investigated the complaint. Following the inquiry, the police on Thursday registered a case against the accused. The police said efforts are underway to arrest Gursewak Singh.
