A violent altercation over sharing the expenses for a birthday celebration turned fatal in a Madhya Pradesh village, resulting in the death of a 41-year-old man. The shocking incident occurred in Manpur village, Anuppur district, late on Friday night, December 27.
How a Celebration Descended into Chaos
The tragedy unfolded during the birthday party of 18-year-old Mahendra Choudhary. The gathering, which included approximately 20 to 25 guests, took a dark turn when an argument erupted between Mangesh Choudhary and Nilesh Choudhary. The core of the conflict was the financial contribution for the festivities.
As tensions escalated, another attendee, Durgesh Choudhary, stepped in to mediate and calm the situation. However, his intervention proved futile. Police reports indicate that the clash intensified dramatically when Kaushal Choudhary, a relative of Mangesh, allegedly slapped Durgesh twice.
The Fatal Attack on a Father
Around 11 PM, in an attempt to prevent further violence, Komal Choudhary, Durgesh's father, began leading his son away from the party venue. Their escape was short-lived. Kaushal Choudhary allegedly intercepted them on their path.
In a brutal assault, Kaushal is accused of attacking Komal with a stick. He struck the 41-year-old man three to four times. The force of the blows caused Komal to collapse immediately on the spot, bleeding profusely from his ear.
Aftermath and Police Action
Durgesh Choudhary promptly alerted the emergency services by calling Dial 112. An ambulance rushed the critically injured Komal to the district hospital in Anuppur. Despite medical efforts, doctors declared him dead upon arrival.
Law enforcement responded swiftly. The Kotwali Anuppur police reached the crime scene the same night and began the process of securing evidence. Authorities have since arrested the main accused, Kaushal Choudhary, and booked him under charges of murder. The investigation into the full sequence of events and the roles of all involved continues.
