Sequence of Events: Intoxication Leads to Violence
The complainant stated that the accused, Raj Kumar Verma, was living as a tenant in their house located in Krishna Nagar, Giaspura. The situation escalated on January 1, when Verma allegedly returned home in an intoxicated state. He parked his motorcycle in the common passage, deliberately blocking the entry to the house.
When the woman objected and asked him to remove the bike, Verma reportedly called his associates to the spot. Soon after, his aides arrived and launched a violent assault on the woman and her family members. The woman alleged that during this attack, the accused tore her clothes and molested her, while her husband and father-in-law were beaten up.
Petrol Bottle Threats and Police Action
As the family raised an alarm, the accused fled the scene but not before allegedly threatening to return the next day. True to their word, on January 2, the accused returned carrying bottles that they claimed were filled with petrol. They then threatened to burn the entire family alive, creating an atmosphere of extreme terror.
Following the complaint, the police have registered a case against the primary tenant, Raj Kumar Verma, and his identified associates: Hamesh, Gambhir alias Raju (all residents of Krishna Nagar), and Niranjan Singh. A case has also been registered against five other unidentified aides involved in the crime.
