Police in Ludhiana have initiated a detailed investigation into the mysterious death of a 35-year-old man, whose body was discovered under suspicious circumstances in a public park last Friday. The incident, which has raised several questions, occurred at the LIG Flats residential complex.
Body Discovered with Rope Tied to Leg
The deceased has been identified as Dinesh Tiwari, a resident of the nearby Guru Arjan Dev Nagar area. His body was found in the park with a rope tied to one of his legs. This peculiar detail immediately caught the attention of the investigating officers and became a central point of the inquiry.
Adding to the complexity of the scene was the fact that Tiwari had a physical disability affecting his other leg. Despite a thorough initial examination, police found no visible injury marks on the body. However, the presence of the rope has prevented authorities from quickly classifying the death as an accident or a result of a medical issue.

Local residents who spotted the body in the park alerted the police. Responding officers were able to identify the man quickly as they recovered an identification card from his pocket, which led them to his family in Guru Arjan Dev Nagar.
During preliminary questioning, the family provided crucial background information. Inspector Gagandeep Singh stated that the family revealed Dinesh Tiwari was unemployed and struggled with chronic alcoholism. "The family stated that Dinesh was a habitual drinker who consumed alcohol throughout the day," Inspector Singh said. They also disclosed that his wife had previously left the marital home due to his addiction problems.
Autopsy Awaited, Witness Search On
The body has been sent to the local civil hospital for a post-mortem examination, which police believe will be vital in determining the exact cause of death. "The autopsy report will be crucial in ascertaining the exact cause of death," emphasized Inspector Singh.
Meanwhile, the police are not leaving any stone unturned. Teams are canvassing the area around the LIG Flats, looking for potential witnesses and checking for any CCTV footage that might shed light on Tiwari's final movements.
